Frankfort, Kentucky: Two Kentucky House candidates, Jeff Donohue and Michael Lewis, have been ruled ineligible for Tuesday's mid-term elections.
Last Monday, Judge Mary Shaw ruled that Michael Lewis, running for the 35th District seat, fell short of the 100 signatures of qualified voters that he needs to qualify for the ballot as an independent candidate.[1]
In another ruling last Tuesday, Judge Fred Cowan ruled that Jeff Donohue has also been disqualified from the race. Donohue was found to have an invalid signature on his petition to run in the 37th District. The signature came from a voter that was not registered in the 37th District.
Donohue plans to appeal this ruling.
