John C. Albert was a judge for the Dane County Circuit Court in Dane County, Wisconsin.[1] He was appointed to the bench by former Republican Governor Tommy Thompson in 1999, and was re-elected in 2000 for a six-year term.[2][3] In April 2006, Albert defeated opponent Koua Vang in the general election by garnering 72 percent of the vote to Vang's 28 percent for another six-year term.[4] In the 2012 general election, Albert ran unopposed and was re-elected.[5] Albert retired from the bench in April 2015.[6]

Education

Albert received both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.[7]

Career

Before he became a judge, Albert was a partner at the law firm of Eustice, Albert & Laffey in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.[6]
