Gerald N. Svetanoff was a judge for the Lake County Superior Court in Indiana. In October, 2013, illness forced him to leave the bench. Svetanoff passed away on January 8, 2014.[1]

Education

Svetanoff earned his bachelor's degree from the Indiana University School of Business and later received his J.D. from the Indiana University Law School in Bloomington. He also undertook graduate work in law at the Northwestern University Law School in Chicago.[1]

Career

After his graduation from law school, Svetanoff was admitted to the Indiana bar in 1960. He then served as a law clerk with the Indiana Supreme Court. Following that, he practiced as an attorney in business and private practice with emphasis on appellate matters in Gary, Indiana.[1] He served on the Lake County Superior Court from 1981 until his health forced him to retire in October, 2013.[1][2]
