Jay B. Rosman was the chief judge of the 20th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He serves in Lee County. He served on this court since 1992. He ran unopposed and was retained in 2010 to a six-year term that ended on January 2, 2017. His two-year term as Chief Judge began on July 1, 2011.[1][2][3]

Education

Rosman received his B.A. degree from Hofstra University. He then earned his J.D. degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1978 and his Master of Judicial Studies from the National Judicial College (Reno, NV) in 1994. He is also pursuing a doctorate.[1][4]

Career

Rosman began his career as an Assistant Public Defender and Assistant State Attorney. He then worked as a private practice lawyer until 1986, when he joined the Lee County Court. In 1992, he was elevated to the circuit court. He has also spent much of his career teaching business law and criminal law at the University of South Florida and Florida Gulf Coast University.[1][4]

2010 election

Rosman ran unopposed and was automatically retained to a new term.[2]
