Louis Kornreich was a federal bankruptcy judge for the United States bankruptcy court, District of Maine. He was appointed on April 3, 2001, and he presided over the court's cases in Bangor, Maine. Kornreich chose to retire at the expiration of his term on April 2, 2015.[1][2]

Education

Kornreich earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and a J.D. from the Catholic University of America.[3]

Military service

Prior to joining the court, Kornreich served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a first lieutenant from 1974 to 1975.

Career

In 1975, Kornreich took a position as an associate with the law firm of Goodman and Kornreich. In 1982, Kornreich transitioned his practice to the law firm of Gross, Minsky, Mogul and Singal, where he focused on bankruptcy-related matters. He also served as an appellate judge for the Penobscot Nation Tribal Court, a position he held for about 20 years.[4]
