John R. Turner was a judge for the Ogeechee Judicial Circuit of the 1st Superior Court District in Georgia. He joined the court in 1996 and last won re-election in 2012. Turner did not seek re-election in 2016. Michael Muldrew was elected to succeed him.[1][2]

Prior to joining the superior court, Turner served three terms as a state court judge for Bulloch County.

Biography

Turner received his B.A. from Georgia Southern University and his J.D. from the University of Georgia. He was admitted to the bar in 1975. Prior to joining the court, Turner served as public defender and assistant district attorney for the 1st Superior Court District.[3] [4]

Turner ran unopposed for re-election to the Ogeechee Superior Court.[5] He was re-elected after receiving 99.8 percent of the vote on July 31, 2012.[6]
