==Academic performance==
The [[Georgia Department of Education]] administers annual tests to students in grades three through eight called the Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT). These tests assess the proficiency of district students in five academic subjects including reading, English language arts (ELA), math, science and social studies. The CRCTs are designed to measure progress by students in topics covered by the [[Common Core|Common Core State Standards]]. A student meets state proficiency goals with a score of 800 and exceeds state proficiency goals with a score of 850 or higher. The following tables detail the percentage of students who met or exceeded proficiency levels on the CRCTs during the 2012-2013 school year:<ref>[http://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Assessment/Pages/CRCT.aspx ''Georgia Department of Education,'' "Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests (CRCT)," accessed June 20, 2014]</ref><ref name=scores>[http://www.gadoe.org/Curriculum-Instruction-and-Assessment/Assessment/Pages/CRCT-Statewide-Scores.aspx ''Georgia Department of Education,'' "CRCT Statewide Scores," accessed June 27, 2014]</ref>

Academic performance

Each year, state and local education agencies use tests and other standards to assess student proficiency. Although the data below was published by the U.S. Department of Education, proficiency measurements are established by the states. As a result, proficiency levels are not comparable between different states and year-over-year proficiency levels within a district may not be comparable because states may change their proficiency measurements. To protect student privacy, percentages are reported as ranges for groups of 300 students or fewer. If five or fewer students were included in a data set, the data will display as "PS."[2]

The following table shows the percentage of district students who scored at or above the proficiency level each school year:
