James Kube is a judge for the District 7 Court in Nebraska. He has served in this position since 2009.[1][2]
Education
Kube received his B.S. degree in agriculture, range management and wildlife management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1982. He went on to receive his master's degree in agronomy and plant breeding from the same school in 1987. He then received his J.D. in 1992 from the University of Nebraska College of Law.[1]
Career
Kube began his career in 1990 as a law clerk in the private practice. Two years later in became a private practice lawyer himself, working in Norfolk, Neb., until 2008. He was then appointed judge of the district court.[1]
2012 election

Kube was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 77.17 percent of the vote.[3][4]
2012 judicial performance evaluation
Every two years, the Nebraska State Bar Association compiles responses from lawyers to evaluate judges in the state. Subjects are rated in seven categories, then a determination is made for whether the judge should be retained. The seven categories considered are: legal analysis; impartiality; attentiveness; opinions; judicial temperament and demeanor; appropriate communication; and timeliness.
