Shavonnia Corbin-Johnson was a 2018 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 10th Congressional District of Pennsylvania.[1]
Biography
Johnson's professional experience includes working at the Laboratory for Global Performance and Politics at Georgetown University. She worked as an adviser and assistant to the director for the Office of Management and Budget at The White House. Johnson earned her Master's in U.S. foreign policy from George Washington University and Bachelor's in international affairs from Georgetown University.[2]
Johnson's civic involvement includes the Jewish Community Center, Helping Hands, Spanish American Center of York, and York Rotary Club #7390, which sponsored her year in France as a foreign exchange student.[2]
Elections
2018
General election
Congressional elections took place in Pennsylvania in 2018. A closed primary election took place on May 15, 2018. The general election was held on November 6, 2018. The candidate filing deadline was March 20, 2018.[3] On February 19, 2018, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court adopted a new congressional district map after ruling that the original map constituted an illegal partisan gerrymander. District locations and numbers were changed by the new map.
