Christine A. Sproat is a former justice for the Dutchess County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to this position in 2003. Soon after, she was elected to a term that began in 2004 and expired 2017.[1][2][3]

Education

Sproat received her A.A.S. degree from Dutchess Community College in 1976, her B.S. degree from the State University of New York at New Paltz in 1978 and her J.D. degree from the Pace University School of Law in 1983.[1]

Career

Sproat began her career in 1983 as an associate attorney for the Law Office of Michel Haggerty, Esq. In 1986, she became a principal court attorney for Hon. Judith Hillery. she worked in that capacity until 1996. She also taught as an adjunct lecturer at Marist College from 1994 to 1996. From 1996 to 2001, she worked as an associate attorney with the firm of Gellert & Cutler, PC. She then returned in 2001 to work as Hon. Judith Hillery's principal court attorney and as the principal court attorney for Hon. Bruce Tolbert. She was then appointed to the Supreme Court in 2003.[1]
