Matt Reed is the superintendent of the New Deal Independent School District. Reed was appointed superintendent on June 1, 2019. Reed's previous career experience includes working as a science teacher, coach, and principal.[1]
School board
The New Deal Independent School District board of trustees consists of seven members elected to three-year terms. All board members are elected at large.[2]

Members of the board are elected annually in May to overlapping three-year terms.[2]
