Russell P. Buscaglia is an acting justice of the Erie County Supreme Court in the 8th Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to this position in 1997. He has also served on the New York Court of Claims since 1997. He was reappointed to this position in 2006 and 2015.[1]
Education
Buscaglia received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1972 and his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 1975.[1]
Career
Buscaglia began his career in 1975 as an attorney practicing with Joseph H. Chirlin, P.C. The following year, he began practicing with Harrison and Gruber. He then served as an assistant Erie County district attorney from 1977 to 1989 and as an assistant U.S. attorney from 1989 to 1995. He was a New York deputy attorney general from 1995 until his judicial appointment in 1997. Since 1998, he has also taught as an adjunct professor of law at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law. He began his judicial career in 1997, when he was appointed an acting supreme court justice and a judge of the New York Court of Claims.[1]
