Three seats on the Grapevine-Colleyville Board of Trustees were up for general election on May 10, 2014. Jesse Rodriguez defeated Troy Greisen for the Place 5 seat. Board Vice President Leon Leal won re-election to the Place 6 seat without opposition. Board President Jorge Rodriguez defeated Mark Assaad for the Place 7 seat.

Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District is based in Grapevine, a city located in Tarrant County, Texas. According to the United States Census Bureau, Grapevine was home to 48,447 residents in 2014.[1] Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District was the 82nd-largest school district in Texas, serving 13,510 students during the 2011-2012 school year.[2]
Demographics
Grapevine outperformed the rest of Texas in terms of higher education achievement in 2012. The United States Census Bureau found that 45.6 percent of Grapevine residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 26.3 percent for Texas as a whole. The median household income in Grapevine was $73,785 compared to $51,563 for the state of Texas. The poverty rate in Grapevine was 11.2 percent compared to 17.4 percent for the entire state.[1]

Each candidate must be at least 18 years old, a registered voter and a resident of the district for at least six months.
