L. Alan Goldsberry was a judge on the Athens County Court of Common Pleas in Athens, Ohio. He was appointed to the court by former Governor Dick Celeste and assumed the bench on January 1, 1987. He retired when last term expired on February 8, 2015.[1][2]
Education
Goldsberry received his undergraduate degree from Ohio University and his J.D. from Duke University.[3]
Career
After graduating from law school, Goldsberry worked at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C. He then returned to Athens, Ohio, and practiced law with another Athens attorney, William Lavelle, for seventeen years until his appointment to the court.[1]
Awards and associations
- Foster B. and Helen W. Cornwell Award for lifetime achievement in working to improve Athens County[4]
