J. Michael "Mike" Sharp is a circuit court judge for the Tenth Circuit Court in Tennessee. He has served in this position since 2008.[1] Sharp was re-elected to the Tenth Circuit Court on August 7, 2014. His current term expires in 2022.[2][3]

Education

Sharp received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University in 1983 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee in 1989.[1]

Career

Sharp began his legal career in 1990 as an associate for the law firm of Varnell and Associates. He worked in that position until 1992, when he became a partner of Varnell, Burns and Sharp. He was then elected to the Tenth Circuit Court in 2008. Throughout his legal career, he also served as a special judge for the Bradley County General Sessions, Juvenile and Truancy Courts from 1990 to 2008.[1]
