Kirstin Schoonover is a judge of the Vermont Superior Courts. She was appointed by Democratic Governor Peter Shumlin on August 5, 2015, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Harold Eaton.[1]
Education
Schoonover earned an undergraduate degree from Pomona College, going on to earn her J.D. from the University of San Francisco.[1]
Career
Prior to her judicial appointment in 2015, Schoonover was a legal aid attorney for Vermonters at Legal Aid. She had held that position since 2007, having previously worked as a public defender for the Chittenden County Public Defender's Office and as an assistant attorney general for the Department of Children and Families.[1]
