The Wyoming Ethics in Government Initiative was proposed on September 3, 1997. It would have established ethical standards and specified unlawful acts of public employees in Wyoming.
To make the ballot no later than 2000, sponsors of the initiative needed to file 32,377 signatures with the Wyoming Secretary of State by March 3, 1999. This did not happen, and the initiative therefore failed.
