Massachusetts: Judge George O'Toole of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts has dismissed a defamation lawsuit filed against television personality Barbara Walters.[1] Nancy Shay of Braintree, Massachusetts, had filed the defamation suit in 2011. Shay alleged that Walters had defamed her in her 2008 memoir. Walters wrote about a "Nancy" who used drugs and had a romantic relationship with Walters' adopted daughter. "Nancy" was expelled from boarding school, and Shay alleged that Walters used her "influence and power" to have Shay expelled.
