Ohio: Judge William W. Young will retire from the Ohio Twelfth District Court of Appeals on February 9, 2011. He has served on this court since early 1987 and is now 73 years old. Regarding his judicial career, he stated, “I appreciate the wonderful things that have been given to me. Being a judge is unique. It’s a privilege and an honor. Very few people get to do it and I’m very appreciative that I got to live that life.” After retirement, he will continue to serve occasionally as a visiting judge.
Young worked as a Lebanon City prosecutor and a private practice lawyer prior to becoming a judge. He was elected to the Warren County Court of Common Pleas in 1970 and served in this position until 1986, when he was elected to the 12th District Court of Appeals.[1]
