Bert A. Bunyan is a former justice of the Kings County Supreme Court, Civil Term in the 2nd Judicial District of New York. He was elected to this position in 2002 and was certificated in 2011. His last term expired in 2012.[1][2]

Education

Bunyan received his B.S. degree from Virginia State University in 1963 and his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1974.[1]

Career

Bunyan began his career in 1974 as a trial attorney for the U.S. National Labor Relations Board. In 1982, he became a supervising trial attorney for the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He then worked as an administrative law judge for the New York Workers Compensation Board from 1986 until his judicial election in 1995.

Bunyan was elected to the New York City Civil Court of New York County in 1995. He was then elected to the Supreme Court in 2002.[1]
