Charlie Peterson was a candidate for the Precinct 5 seat on the Jordan Board of Education in Utah. He lost in the primary election on June 24, 2014 to fellow challenger Roy Hayward and incumbent Susan Pulsipher.

Jordan School District is located in Salt Lake County, Utah. The county seat is Salt Lake City. Salt Lake County was home to 1,091,742 residents in 2014, according to the United States Census Bureau.[2] In the 2012-2013 school year, Jordan School District was the fourth-largest school district in Utah and served 52,481 students.[3]
Demographics
Salt Lake County overperformed in comparison to the rest of Utah in terms of higher education achievement and median household income in 2013. The United States Census Bureau found that 31.0 percent of county residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 30.3 percent for Utah as a whole. The median household income in Salt Lake County was $60,555 compared to $58,821 for the state of Utah. The poverty rate in Salt Lake County was 12.7 percent, the same rate for the entire state.[2]
