Washington: Tuesday's election resulted in only six of the thirty-eight proposed measures being defeated, most notably the Whatcom Transportation Authority Tax which failed by less than one percent. Three school issues in Snohomish County failed as did an additional levy in the Prescott Park District area and the repeal of the Edgewood city utility tax in Pierce County. But most district and city voters approved levy renewals and bonds regardless of the strain on budgets and financial situations.
The next major election in Washington will be August 17, 2010 when the state holds its primary elections.
