Washington School District Bond Measure (August 2010)

A Washington School District Bond Measure was on the August 3, 2010 ballot in the Washington school district which is in Franklin County.

This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $15 million in order to equip leased school facilities as well as renovate and repair current buildings in the district. The current tax levy would not increase, just remain the same for further years.

The question on the ballot:

Shall The School District of Washington, Franklin County, Missouri, incur indebtedness and issue its general obligation bonds in the amount of $15,000,000, resulting in no increase in the debt service property tax levy, for the purpose of acquiring school facilities and equipment currently leased by the District, renovation, repair and improvement of school facilities, including but not limited to roof repairs, HVAC, making buildings safer for students, and furnishing and equipping schools? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the District is estimated to remain unchanged at $0.29 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.
