Mary Ann Whipple is a bankruptcy judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Northern District of Ohio. She was appointed to the bench on May 1, 2001, and her current term will expire on April 30, 2029.[1][2]

Education and early life

Mary Whipple was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She grew up in Toledo and graduated from Thomas A. DeVilbiss High School.[2] She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Russian studies from the University of Michigan in 1977 and in 1981 she received her J.D. from Stanford Law School.[1][3]

Career

Judge Whipple practiced law for twenty years as a commercial, bankruptcy, and employment litigator with the Toledo, Ohio firm Fuller & Henry Ltd.[2]
