Richard L. Puglisi is a former federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Hawaii. He was appointed to this position on April 1, 2011, and retired from the court on March 31, 2019.[1][2] He was succeeded by Wes Reber Porter.
Previously, Puglisi was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. He was first appointed to this position on April 26, 1996.[3]
Education
Judge Puglisi graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1979.[4]
Career
After law school, Judge Puglisi joined the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Corps of the U.S. Naval Reserve, where he served as a judge for four years. In May of 1984, he joined the law firm Montgomery & Andrews. In 1989, he also began serving in the Army National Guard. He co-founded the firm Madison, Harbor, Mroz & Puglisi in 1991 and was appointed magistrate judge in New Mexico five years later.[4]
