Theresa Bryant Whelan was a judge of the Suffolk County Family Court in New York. She left office on December 26, 2022.

Whelan served in this position beginning in 2008, following her election in 2007.[1]

Education

Whelan received her B.A. and M.S. degrees from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1985. She then earned her J.D. degree from Albany Law School in 1988.[2]

Career

Whelan began her career in 1988 as an Assistant Court Attorney of Suffolk County. She then served as the principal law clerk to Hon. Eli Wagner (1990-1992), Hon. Mary Werner (1993-2003) and Hon. William Rebolini (2004 - 2007). She joined the Family Court bench in 2008.[1][2]
