James A. Manley was a judge of the 20th District Court in Montana. Manley was appointed to the court by Governor Steve Bullock on October 25, 2013, to replace retired Judge C.B. McNeil.[1][2] He was retained by voters in 2014. [3]

Primary: He was successful in the primary on June 3rd, 2014, receiving 64.2 percent of the vote. He competed against Mark Russell.
General: He defeated Mark Russell in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 62.5 percent of the vote.

Education
Manley received his undergraduate degree in English from the University of Montana in 1973 and his J.D. degree from the Lewis and Clark Law School in 1978.[2]
Career
Manley's career experience includes the following:
- Deputy county attorney for Lake County
- Private practice attorney
- City attorney for both the cities of St. Ignatius and Hot Springs in Montana[2]
