Leslie J. Purificacion
Leslie J. Purificacion is a justice on the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District. He was elected to the court in 2012 and his current term expires in 2026.[1]
Education
Purificacion received his B.A. degree from Amherst College in 1976 and his J.D. degree from the New York Law School in 1991.[1]
Career
Purificacion began his career in 1991 as a private practice lawyer and a staff attorney for the Office of the Appellate Defender. He worked in the private practice until 1996 and at the Appellate Defender's office until 1993. He then served as a principal law clerk for various judges in Queens County: Hon. Luther Dye (1996-1997), Hon. Simeon Golar (1998-2001), and Hon. Robert Nahman (2002-2006). He joined the Civil Court in 2007, where he served until his elected to the New York Supreme Court 11th Judicial District.[1]
2012 election
Purificacion was elected to the 11th District Supreme Court. He was one of five candidates competing for three seats in the general election on November 6, 2012. He ran on the Democratic party tickets.[2][3]
