C. Tommy Nail

Cecil Tommy Nail was a criminal division judge of Circuit 10 in Jefferson County, Alabama. He served in this position from 1999 to January 2017. Nail was unable to seek re-election in 2016 because he reached the age of 70 that year, the statutory age limit in the state for judges.[1][2][3]

Education

Judge Nail received his B.S. degree from Jacksonville State University and his J.D. degree from the Birmingham School of Law.[2]

Career

Judge Nail was admitted to the practice of law on September 27, 1976.[4] He worked as a Deputy District Attorney in Jefferson County for approximately 9 years and as a private practice lawyer for 15 years before becoming a circuit judge in 1999.[2]

2010 election

Nail was re-elected after running unopposed.[5]
