Alan A. Dickey
Alan A. Dickey was the chief judge of the 18th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He served in Seminole County. He was elected to the circuit court without opposition in July of 1990 and took office in 1991. In 2008, he was re-elected to a term that was to end on January 5, 2015. Dickey did not seek re-election at the end of his term, however, and retired on December 31, 2014.[1][2][3][4]
Education
Dickey received his B.A. degree from Stetson University in 1965 and his J.D. degree from the University of Florida College of Law in 1968.[1]
Career
Dickey began his career in 1968 as a private practice lawyer in Deland, Fla. He then practiced law in Sanford from 1971 to 1976. He also served as an assistant state attorney of the 18th Judicial Circuit in 1971 and as an Assistant Public Defender in 1973. In 1976, he was elected to the Seminole County Court. He was the administrative judge for that court from 1978 to 1980. He was then elected to the circuit court in 1991.[1][5]
