John Kase
John L. Kase was a judge for the Nassau County Court in New York. He served in this position since 2005, following his election.[1]
Judge Kase announced that he would step down on December 31, 2012, having reached the mandatory retirement age of 70. He planned to return to private practice and rejoin the firm he co-founded in 1978.[2]
Education
Kase received his B.A. degree from New York University, College of Arts and Sciences in 1964 and his J.D. degree from St. John's University School of Law in 1967.[1]
Career
Kase began his career in 1967 as an Assistant District Attorney of Bronx County. He then worked as a Special Attorney for the U.S. Justice Department's Organized Crime and Racketeering Section from 1971 to 1972 and as a Special Assistant Attorney General of the New York State Organized Crime Task Force from 1972 to 1975. He then joined the Nassau County District Attorney's Office, where he served as Chief of the Rackets, Narcotics and District Court Trial Bureau until 1978. From 1978 through 2004, he worked as a senior partner of the law firm of Kase and Druker. In 2005, he joined the Nassau County Court.[1]
