Marcia P. Hirsch

Marcia P. Hirsch was an acting justice of the Queens County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 11th Judicial District of New York. She was appointed to this position in 2005. She has also served as a judge on the New York Court of Claims since 2005.[1][2]

Education

Hirsch received her undergraduate degree from Union College and his J.D. degree from the Syracuse Law School in 1978.[1]

Career

Hirsch began her legal career in 1978 as Assistant Counsel to the New York State Higher Education Services Corp. The following year, she worked as an Administrative Law Judge for the NYS Dept. of Social Services. She became an associate of the law firm of Mandell and Mandell in 1980 and then worked as Counsel to RKM Enterprise in 1983 and 1984. From 1984 to 1990, she was a private practice lawyer and, from 1990 to 1995, she was a partner of the firm Horing & Welikson, PC. She became Acting General Counsel to the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal in 1995. She then worked as General Counsel to this division from 1997 until her judicial appointment in 2005. She was appointed judge of the New York Court of Claims and acting justice of the Queens County Supreme Court in 2005.[1]
