Dawn Elshere is a judge for the Third Judicial Circuit in South Dakota. She was appointed by Gov. Dennis Daugaard (R) on November 22, 2017.[1]

Elshere was a magistrate for the Third Judicial Circuit from 2015 to 2017.[2]

Biography

Elshere was born in Hosmer, South Dakota. She received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of South Dakota in 1991 and a J.D. from the same university's law school in 1994. Prior to joining the court as a magistrate in 2015, Elshere was a state's attorney in Codington County from 2007 to 2015. Her professional experience also includes serving as a deputy state's attorney, an attorney in private practice, and a law clerk for Judge Warren G. Johnson.[1]
