D. Scott Smith

D. Scott Smith is a judge of the Cherokee Circuit of Georgia.[1] He was appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue in 2005 and his current term expires in 2018.[2]

Education

Smith received his bachelor of arts from West Georgia College and his J.D. from Georgia State University.[2]

Career

Smith started his career in private law, and was a junior partner at the firm Akin and Tate. He began his public career as deputy district attorney in the Cherokee Judicial Circuit, Georgia, after which he was appointed to the Superior Court for the same circuit.[2]
