Campaign website

Schiefelbein’s campaign website stated the following:

Peace
Weapons are not good for the people, or the planet. There is always room for improvement for air, water, and soil protections. We need to focus on food, community, and education for our future generations, not war, weapons, and division. Now is always the time to protect the earth, to ensure that we live in a healthy and sustainable environment, for us and for those to come.

Individual Rights
Individual rights should be protected. Civil liberties are the backbone of our society, our freedom. We cannot live in a police state, where it is allowed to control, hurt people, complete night raids, and censor on public grounds. Our freedoms must stand, or we shall have no freedoms. Student raids must stop immediately. Public safety is for everyone.

Healthcare
Improved Healthcare for All, with dental, vision, mental, and right to home healthcare is a must. The U.S. military budget is more than next 9 countries combined. With a divestment from the war defense budget, our war defense budget could still be more than double then next country. We must focus on ourselves, we the people, and not the corporate warfare.

Rural veteran care can improve on a healthcare for all system.

Veteran Care
Our veterans fought hard for us and it is time for us to fight for them!

With an alarming suicide rate among veterans, and the number of the homeless population who are veterans, we need to focus on taking care of our veterans more! We must never forget of the sacrifices that they make, and continue to make day-after-day. Another world is possible and we can provide better care for our veterans in an Healthcare for All plan.

Gun Rights
Anna believes in the Second Amendment. She also appreciates the history and culture of guns.

As a mom, she understands that gun violence is a serious problem in our country and we can improve how guns are sold. Using a historical analysis, Anna would advocate for two provisions from The Gun Control Act of 1968 to be brought back. These were repealed in the 1986 Firearm Owners Protection Act, and are as follows: 1) gun seller registrations based on a small fixed number of sales, and 2) restrict gun sales to only those in the state unless federally registered.

We need to retain our freedom and individual rights of the Second Amendment, while keeping our schools safe. The gun violence problem may stem from societal problems, in which a stable community and community-based economics could help alleviate.

Immigration
No person is illegal and we would maintain a systemic process to welcome migrants legally to work. Before any solutions can be looked at, we must understand why the problem exists. For example, a reason people come here from Latin America is because the local economies changed to massive poverty when new giant agriculture businesses entered their markets. We can learn a lot from how the problem occurs.

Term Limits
Congressional term limits could help democracy.

Anna supports the following term limits:

– 2-year seats, maximum of 4 consecutive terms;

– 4-year seats, maximum of 2 consecutive terms; and

– 6-year seats, maximum of 2 consecutive terms.

After the maximum terms are served, the elected official can enjoy one term off and run again for the same seat in the next cycle.

Education Policy
A bottom-up reporting approach can help bring ideas, innovations, and solutions to light. We are not a one-size-fits-all country, and our education system should not be either. We should be able to work with schools, support their needs, and encourage innovation.[2]
