An effort in Las Vegas, Nevada, to recall City Councilman Steve Seroka was initiated in December 2018. The effort was rendered moot after Seroka resigned from office on March 4, 2019.[1][2]
Recall supporters
Recall organizers accused Seroka of having anti-development stances. Former Assemblywoman Victoria Seaman (R) said she would run against Seroka in a hypothetical recall election. She criticized Seroka's opposition to developing homes on the Badlands golf course.[1]
Recall opponents
Seroka said the developers of the Badlands project were not working with the city council to move the project forward, citing difficulties with zoning and land use rules. He said, "I think it is very clear that the developer’s position is flawed. He does not have a right to develop on the land. It doesn’t seem that there is a way forward until he is willing to work with his neighbors and work with the council office."[3]
