An effort in Humboldt, Nebraska, to recall City Councilwoman Dolores Martinez was initiated in April 2019.[1] The recall election was held on July 9, 2019, and Martinez was removed from office.[2]

Recall supporters
The recall was organized by Jamie Lynne Dorney, who accused Martinez of failing to act in the best interest of the city and having acted unprofessionally and unethically.[3]
Recall opponents
In her statement of defense, Martinez called the accusations ambiguous and unverified.[3]

Dorney filed the recall petition on April 3, 2019. Fifty-six signatures were required to put the recall on the ballot. On April 29, 2019, Richardson County Clerk Mary Eickhoff verified 78 signatures of the 81 signatures collected.[3]
