Arthur Boylan
Arthur J. Boylan was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. He was appointed to this position on November 1, 1996 and retired from the court on January 8, 2014.[1][2]
Education
Judge Boylan earned his law degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago Kent College of Law in 1976.[1]
Career
After law school, Arthur Boylan practiced law with the firm Hulstrand, Anderson, and Larson until 1986, when he was appointed to a position on the Minnesota District Court. He was then appointed Magistrate Judge in 1996.[1]

Noteworthy cases
NFL lockout
Chief Magistrate Arthur Boylan was the official mediator of the NFL lockout during 2011. He listened to arguments from both the NFL and NFLPA in their attempts to resolve the conflict.[3]
