Biography

Freeman worked at the Mesa Fire and Medical Department for 31 years and retired as a Captain Paramedic. Freeman also served as president of the Lehi Community Association Board for 12 years and was a member of the Mesa Board of Adjustment and the Maricopa County and Arizona Farm Bureau. He represented District 1 on the Mesa City Council from 2017 to 2024 and served as vice mayor from 2019 to 2021.[3]

The city of Mesa, Arizona, held elections for mayor and city council on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on August 30, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 1, 2016. Three of the six city council seats were up for election.[4] Mark Freeman defeated Pat Gilbert and Courtney Guinn in the Mesa City Council, District 1 primary election.[5]
