John Giles was the Mayor of Mesa in Arizona. He assumed office on September 18, 2014. He left office on January 7, 2025.

Giles won re-election for Mayor of Mesa in Arizona outright in the primary on August 4, 2020, after the general election was canceled.

Before becoming mayor, Giles was a member of the Mesa City Council from 1996 to 2000. He served as vice mayor from 1998 to 2000.[3]

The city of Mesa, Arizona, held elections for mayor and city council on November 8, 2016. A primary election took place on August 30, 2016. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 1, 2016. Three of the six city council seats were up for election.[4] Incumbent John Giles ran unopposed in the Mayor of Mesa primary election.[5]

Elections for the city council of Mesa, Arizona were scheduled to take place on November 4, 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. Because one candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the primary, the general election scheduled for November 4 was called off. John Giles defeated Danny Ray.[6][7]
