I was born in Northeast Ohio and moved to Columbus to attend Capital University, where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education. My family and I have lived in Central Ohio since 2002. I have been a public school teacher for over twenty years. I have had the privilege of being a middle school language arts & special education teacher, an elementary librarian, and a high school special education teacher. I have a master's degree in Library and Information Science and School Administration. Providing all students with a public school education where they are educated, equipped, and empowered for life both in and outside of the classroom is my passion.
  • Educate: I believe that we must meet each student at their current level and provide them with an education that will prepare them for life both in and outside of the classroom.
  • Equip: In a world that is constantly changing, schools must provide students with the tools necessary to be successful after high school in areas such as college, the workforce, and enlistment.
  • Empower: I believe that we must teach students to understand their own perspectives and how to share their views with the world.
I am passionate about public school education.
Through open and honest communication, school board members must work with the district leadership, teachers, staff, students, and parents to ensure that all students are educated, equipped, and empowered to be successful both in and outside of the classroom. By holding monthly board, finance & facilities, and workshop meetings, the current Gahanna-Jefferson school board has provided open, honest, and transparent communication. These meetings allow our community to be informed about the district's progress with our strategic vision, which includes current student academic achievement and overall well-being.
Maya Angelou said, "At the end of the day, people won't remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel." I want to be remembered as a person who was always there for people, willing to listen, and help out whenever needed.
I could never pick just one! I have been an avid reader my whole life. When I do not have a book in my hand, I am listening to an audiobook or a podcast. Reading is my favorite hobby!

As a current high school intervention specialist, I am most proud of helping students earn the credits and state requirements necessary to graduate from high school.
