Rick Parent was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of New Hampshire.

Parent was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts. At the age of 15, he joined a commercial Scallop boat and worked in the industry for the following 12 years. In 1996, he tested for his 3rd engineers license. He has also served as Chief Engineer.[1]

Parent ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent New Hampshire's 1st District. He faced Vern Clough and was defeated by incumbent Frank Guinta in the Republican primary.[2]
