Michael G. Allphin

Michael G. Allphin is a judge of the Farmington District Court in the Second Judicial District in Davis County, Utah.[1] Judge Allphin was first appointed to this position by Governor Michael O. Leavitt in July 1995.[2] He was retained in 2010 to a six-year term.[3]
Allphin won a retention election on November 8, 2016.[4]
Biography
Allphin received his J.D. from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1980.[2] After law school, Allphin practiced law with the firm of Boyack, Allphin & Hansen. He then served as the state district court administrator from 1988 to 1989. He was appointed to the position of district court commissioner in 1989 and was later transferred to the Second District. He served in that position and also as district judge pro tempore until 1995.[2]

Utah held retention elections for local judicial offices on November 8, 2016. The filing deadline for sitting judges seeking retention was April 15, 2016. Michael Allphin was retained in the Utah 2nd District Court (Allphin Seat) election with 77.95 percent of the vote. [4]
