Joseph E. Gubbay is a judge for the New York City Criminal Court of Kings County, New York. He was appointed to this position in 1999 and was reappointed in 2009 and 2019. He has also served as an acting justice of the Kings County Supreme Court since 2004.[1]

Education

Gubbay received his B.A. from Tufts University in 1977 and his J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1980.[1]

Career

Gubbay began his career in 1984 as an inspector general for the NYC Department of Investigation. He then worked from 1996 to 1999 as an executive director of the Mayor's Commission to Combat Police Corruption. His judicial career began in 1999, when he was appointed to the criminal court. He was also appointed an acting supreme court justice in 2004.[1]
