David M. Brockway
David M. Brockway was a judge for the Chemung County Family Court in Chemung County, New York. He served on the court from 2001, following his election. He was also appointed an acting justice of the Chemung County Supreme Court in 2010.[1][2] Brockway retired from the court on May 31, 2014.[3]
Education
Brockway received his undergraduate degree from Colgate University in 1972 and his J.D. degree from the Albany Law School of Union University in 1975.[1]
Career
Brockway began his career in 1975 as an assistant public defender for Chemung County. He then worked from 1980 to 1994 as a sole practitioner of the Brockway Law Firm. He then became a partner at the law firm of Personius, Prechtl, Mattison, Palmer & Brockway, where he worked until 1999. Also, Brockway became a justice of the Horseheads Village Court in 1980. He served in that position until his election to the Chemung County Family Court at the end of 2000. He joined the Chemung County Family Court in 2001 and became an acting supreme court justice in 2010. He also taught as an adjunct visiting lecturer at S.U.N.Y. Corning Community College from 2003 to 2007.[1]
