Alma Cordova was a judge for the New York City Criminal Courts and the New York City Civil Court, serving on the Bronx County Family Court in New York. She was appointed to the family court in August 1993. She was later appointed to the civil court in December of 2005 and to the criminal court in January of 2007. She also served as an acting justice of the New York Supreme Court beginning in 2007. She retired in 2012.[1][2]

Education

Cordova received her undergraduate degree from Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York and her J.D. from Seton Hall University.[1][3]

Career

Cordova began her career in 1982 working for the Legal Aid Society. She then worked as a corporation counsel from 1986 to 1993 and as a family court hearing examiner from 1990 to 1993.[1]
