Kelsey Kawano is a judge for the Maui Second Circuit Court of Hawaii. He was appointed on October 17, 2019 by Governor David Ige to replace Joseph E. Cardoza, who retired in June 2019.

Kawano was a judge for the Maui Second Circuit District Court of Hawaii. He took office on August 29, 2008, and served there until his appointment to the Maui Second Circuit Court.[1]

Education

Kawano received his undergraduate degree from the University of Hawaii and his J.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Law in 1984.[2]

Career

Kawano began his legal career as an attorney in private practice and became a solo practitioner ten years later in 1994. He dealt with cases involving family, business, employment and real estate law until his judicial appointment. He was also a part-time district court judge from 2006 to 2008.[3]
