Harris was appointed to the Utah Court of Appeals by Republican Governor Gary Herbert in 2017.[1][2]

Harris was previously a judge for the Third District Court in Utah. He was appointed by Governor Gary Herbert in August 2011 to succeed Glenn K. Iwasaki, and was confirmed on October 19, 2011.[3][4] He was retained in 2014.[5]
