Elizabeth Riles is a judge of the Superior Court of Alameda County in California. She assumed office in 2024. Her current term ends on January 4, 2027.

She was appointed to the court on January 29, 2024 by Gavin Newsom (D) to replace Kevin R. Murphy.[1]

Biography

Riles earned her undergraduate degree at Stanford University. She then received her Juris Doctor in 1998 from U.C. Berkeley School of law. She has served as a commissioner in Alameda County Superior Court since 2023. She also worked as an administrative law judge for the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board from 2022 to 2023.[2]
