Kimberly B.M. Taniyama
Kimberly B.M. Taniyama is a judge of the Hawai`i 3rd Circuit District Court in Hawaii. She assumed office on December 2, 2021. Her current term ends on December 1, 2027.

Taniyama was appointed to the court on October 7, 2021 by Chief Justice Mark Recktenwald to replace Margaret Masunaga.[1] She was confirmed by the Hawaii State Senate on October 31, 2021.[2]
Biography
Taniyama has participated in community organizations such as Friends of the Libraries and the Kona Crime Prevention Committee. Additionally, she has served as an arbitrator with the Court Annexed Arbitration Program. She has volunteered with Lawyers in the Classroom, Mock Trial at Konawaena High School, the Third Circuit's Self-Help Center, Junior Judges, the Judiciary's Courts in the Community program, and We the People at Kealakehe and Konawaena high schools. Taniyama has also held leadership roles in the West Hawaii Bar Association. In 2016, Taniyama received the Hawaii State Bar Association Government Lawyers Section 2016 Pro Bono Legal Service Award.
Education
Taniyama earned her B.A. at Loyola Marymount University and her law degree at University of Hawaii, William S. Richardson School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to her appointment to the Hawai`i Third Circuit District Court, Taniyama served as a District Court Per Diem Judge in Kona. She has also worked with the Law Office of Kimberly B. Taniyama for over four years. Before starting her own law practice, Taniyama served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Hawaii County for 19 years. She was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 1997.[1]
